Let's Capture Our Memories: Sketch #61

Good Saturday to you all! I hope this post finds you all in good cheer and enjoying your weekend. Let's Capture Our Memories revealed some awesome designs this morning and I thought I would show what I created using Laura Whitaker's amazing sketches.

Don't you just love these sketches? I have been a fan of Laura's for some time now - her sketches are so versatile and user-friendly! Anyone can scrap with them, really. Here is what I came up with:

Used tons of Basic Grey's Mint Julep collection on this one - patterned papers, alphas, stickers, mixed brads, woven labels, and canvas stickers. I have been wanting to scrap this picture for the longest time - the colour palette and the patterns were just perfect to highlight this sweet photo of our Éloïse at seven days old. I also sprinkled some American Crafts alphas, Stampin's Up cardstock, and Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze as well as used my Stampin' Up scallop punch and my Crafter's Workshop stitching template with some DMC floss.

Another Basic Grey project! Yes, I know! I am a Basic Grey fanatic, but isn't the Bowties collection perfect for boy birthday cards like this one? Also stenciled some Stampin' Up ink using the Splatters stencil by Tim Holtz and added some Stampin' Up buttons I have had in my stash since the very beginning of my scrappy years. Attached them with some DMC floss. Oh! And I also used my very handy Tiny Attacher by Tim Holtz for those staples you see on the top right corner of the card.

Want to see what the LCOM girls designed using these sketches? Hop on over to today's reveal and see just how versatile these sketches are! Of course, if you play along, you'll get a chance to win a fabulous prize!! Oh! And you'll find a special guest designer - Laura herself! So cool to see how a sketch designer uses her own sketches. If you'd also like to see more of Laura's sketch portfolio, hop on over to her very own sketch blog here. From there, you'll be able to visit other blogs she designs for. Amazing stuff!!

Happy scrapping!

  1. Beautiful as always Aurelie. The colors in your layout give me a feel of tenderness and love. The photo of Eloise is just beautiful. Makes me want to cuddle her and smell that beautiful baby smell. I just adore this LO. I love the card and I know my boys would love it too. The patterned papers are great. xx
