I'm going back to school! Heidi Swapp school that is!!

Just registered for Heidi Swapp's new set of online classes coming up in August!!  I CANNOT wait to start!!  I absolutely LOVE her innovative way of scrapbooking, but have not been able to start memory filing myself... I really have no idea how to start!  With this class, I know that I will have the much needed nudge to try it and LOVE it!!  Can't wait!!

Go see!!  And who knows?  We might be "classmates" very soon!!

Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #142 --- REVEAL!!!

Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #142 --- REVEAL!!!: It's that time again...time to reveal some stunning layouts by our sketch team!!! We have a fabulous sketch this week created by our guest ...

Another fabulous reveal at LCOM!!  As soon as I saw Cindy Stevens' sketch, I wanted to try a layout with the pocket shape - but I hesitated because I thought everyone would do it!!  I went ahead with my gut and absolutely love the end result!!  Here is the sketch I used as inspiration and the end result for me:

Now, for you out there who know me best, you know how much I love to stitch on my layouts, but that I've been absolutely petrified to try out the sewing machine my parents bought me for Christmas...  Yes, I've hand-stitched every stitch so far on all my layouts!! So, with that in mind, I was home last week and my Maman convinced me to bring my sewing machine with me so that she could walk me through my first try with it!!  TADA!! My first layout with stitching via a sewing machine!!  My Papape was all worried because my lines were all crooked... but when I told him that I actually wanted crooked lines, he quickly congratulated on my first try!!  Hee!Hee!

Loved working with the My Mind's Eye's On the Bright Side-One Collection.  Also used some Jillibean Soup corrugated alphas, Tim Holtz Chit Chat Words, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, and Stampin' Up brads.

Head on over to the Lets' Capture These Sketches blog for another great weekly reveal!!

Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #141 --- REVEAL!!!

Here is the layout I made using the Cindy Stevens sketch for the Let's Capture Our Memories Design Team:

The layout is of a colleague of mine who has become an absolute gem of a friend.  I really treasure our friendship and I look forward to our many future adventures!!

I used lots of Basic Grey on this one - from the Archaic collection - as well as some 7 Gypsies, Tim Holtz, Tattered Angels, and Close to My Heart.  The border was done using a Martha Stewart punch and I added some old ribbon and vintage buttons I had for a VERY long time.

Go take a peek of all the fabulous work the LCOM girls have done this week.  Great job everyone!!

Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #141 --- REVEAL!!!: Wow, I can't believe how fast the week flies by...time for another fantastic reveal by our super talented sketch team! We have an awesome s...

Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #140 -- REVEAL!!!

Let's Capture Our Memories' second Sketch Team's layouts have been posted!! Woo!Hoo! Great job everyone!!

Here is the Natalie Roy sketch from which the team was inspired:

As soon as I saw the sketch, I fell IN LOVE with that ''coffee stain'' and the sketch itself reminded me of a Sczosnek design I saw in an online gallery.  I merged the two together and here is what I came up with:

Gotta love that Echo Park Note to Self Collection!!  Added some Stampin' Up trim, American Crafts alphas, Tim Holtz sprocket gears, Epiphany Crafts banners with some Basic Grey Life of the Party Collection coordinating paper, and Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze... and voilà!  A layout of my husband with our son enjoying a great day on vacation two summers ago.

Thanks LCOM, for another great reveal!!

Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #139 -- REVEAL!!!

I am SO very excited to share my first reveal EVER as a member of a design team!! Thanks Let's Capture Our Memories in making me part of your scrappy family.  I am so proud of everyone's take on the sketch!!  I am truly honoured to be part of such a talented bunch of scrappy peeps!!  Enjoy!!

This is the layout I made inspired by a Natalie Roy sketch:

I love the Simple Stories Summer Fresh Collection I used for this layout!!  As soon as I saw it, it reminded me of pictures I had of my nieces and nephews.  And here are two of them a good twelve years ago... ALREADY!  Where has the time gone?...  I especially love the effect of the Crafter's Workshop stencil I inked to create that scripted background.  My eyes have recently been drawn to such an effect on other scrappers' creations and when I saw Natalie's sketch, it reminded me to take those stencils out and about and ink away!!

Please go and visit the reveal page below.  You will not be disappointed!!  YAHOO!!

Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #139 -- REVEAL!!!: This is soooo exciting!!! Our first reveal with the first half of the new sketch team!!!! We are so thrilled to have such a wonderful group...
