Stuck?! Sketches: April 15th 2016 Sketch and Reveal

Hello, hello! It's reveal day over at Stuck?! Sketches! YAY! Laura Whitaker really knocked it out of the ball park with this fabulous sketch:

L-O-V-E this sketch!! And here's what I came up with:

Since Basic Grey has announced that it won't be producing scrapbooking products anymore, I've been on a BG binge. Not that I want to use up my stuff - quite the contrary - but just because I want to smell the paper, feel the textures and believe that they are still around! ;) Do you recognize the BG collection on this layout? Patterned papers, banner... It's an oldie... c. 2012... Soleil! I'm also super happy with that scripted background. It's totally inspired by Missy Whidden - using a Crafter's Workshop stencil, I scraped some Shimmerz' Dazzlerz in Coral Me Crazy over it. Love the effect! I also used some Crate chipboard stickers, a Heidi Swapp wood veneer title piece (that I painted with a clear Wink of Stella marker to give it a bit of sparkle), a Maya Road banner clip, Magenta mesh, buttons from my stash, Stampin' Up vellum and cardstock, a strand of baker's twine, and my ever-so-faithful Bazzill Basics stitching template and some good ol' DMC floss.

Stuck?! Sketches: April 1st 2016 Sketch and Reveal

Hello, hello! WOW! It's been a L-O-N-G time since I've blogged about anything. But I'm back! I've lately been graciously welcomed me back to the Stuck?! Sketches team and I'm super excited to restart creating with Laura Whitaker's sketches on a regular basis. YAY! So, without any further adieu, here is Laura 's April 1st sketch:

And here's what I did with it:

I used tons of Basic Grey's Herbs & Honey collection on this one (patterned papers, decorative bags and brads). The color palette was SO perfect to bring out the tones in my photos. And yes, I fussy-cut all of those flowers from some of the patterned papers. It's relaxing - it truly is. ;)  I also added some Fancy Pants alphas, a Heidi Swapp wood veneer word, a Frecked Fawn wood veneer piece, Crate Paper rubons, Stampin' Up buttons (and that green one, I have no clue where it came from!), American Crafts glitter paper, Hemptique fibers, Basic Grey brads, and some Stampin' Up vellum and cardstock. Instead of adding journaling below the title, I opted to hide it behind that tag - it just makes the photots pop even more.
