Stuck?! Sketches: July 15th Sketch and Reveal

Hello, everyone! Half of the month is already gone, but I'm celebrating the rest of the month that we still have with a Stuck?! Sketches reveal!! WOO!HOO! Here is the awesome sketch by Laura Whitaker we worked with this time around:

Beautiful, eh? I had three small vertical photos to play with, so I flipped the sketch to its left so that it looked like this:

The design team was also asked to create layouts using this very summery colour palette created by The Studio Challenges:

As soon as I saw the colour palette, it immediately made me think of American Crafts' Amy Tangerine Plus One collection. I SO love it when one collection has all the colours I'm looking for! A one-stop shop kind of thing!! And here is what I came up with:

And a few close-ups:

Also used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, a We R Memory Keepers stitching template with some DMC floss, Making Memories staples, a Christy Tomlinson rubon, some Queen & Co. washi tape, a bit of Stampin'  Up cardstock, and a cut file - Sketchy Circles - totally free over at Scrapbook and Cards Today right here.

How 'bout seeing the rest of the reveal? Click here to see what the other Stuck?! Sketches designers came up with for this "two-for-the-price-of-one" kinda challenge. Great inspiration for SURE! And if you link your own design using today's sketch and colour palette over at Stuck?! Sketches, you'll be in the running to win some awesome prizes from Boys Rules Kits and Paper Secrets. Woo!Hoo!

Happy scrapping!

Stuck?! Sketches: July 1st Sketch and Reveal

Hello, everyone! So happy for you to have taken the time to come for a visit to see what I've been up to lately! Today is extra special because it's Canada Day in my neck of the woods, PLUS, it's reveal day over at Stuck?! Sketches! Who could ask for anything more? ;) So, without further adieu, here is the fantastic sketch Laura Whitaker whipped up for her design team:

And here's what I designed, followed by a few close-ups:

Inspired by the Canada Day reveal, I used some 2011 Canada Day photos and highlighted them by scrapping with some My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side - One patterned paper, and some Record It! - Just Splendid enamel dots. Also splashed on some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze and stitched me some DMC floss using a Bazzill Basics stitching template. Finally, the title is an Ali Edwards original that I die-cut on my very handy Silhouette machine - which was my contribution to this reveal's joint challenge with Frosted Designs. Oh! And those triangles? I totally traced them from some Creative Embellishments chipboard triangles I had on hand. Nothing like some good ol' fashioned tracing and cutting! Hee!Hee! And those wooden buttons? You betcha! I have no clue where they come from!! Hee!Hee!

For those of you who would like your hand using this sketch, link your designs to today's reveal over at Stuck?! Sketches right here. Your name will be added to all those submitted for not one, but two draws to win a fabulous prize from Creative Embellishments (a $20 gift certificate) and ScrapMuch? (a kit of the month).

Happy scrapping!
