Stuck?! Sketches: June 15th Sketch and Reveal

Hello, everyone! Can't believe that we're already mid-June! But that means that it's time for another reveal over Stuck?! Sketches. YAHOO! Here's the Laura Whitaker sketch we worked with this time around:

Now, I can't tell you just how much I LOVE this sketch. When I first saw it, I swear to you know who, my heart started to pitter patter just a bit faster. :) Here's what I created with it:

Mm-mm, that's right! Loved using the old Fancy Pants collections a few weeks ago that I just hauled them back out again for this design. Do you remember which ones? Yes! Christmas Magic and Hot Chocolate!! Also used a Martha Stewart border punch, Tim Holtz' Splatters Stencil with some of my oh, so favourite StäzOn ink in Timber Brown, a Bazzill Basics stitching template with some DMC floss, a few pieces of Queen & Co. washi tape, a couple of Studio Calico arrow wood veneers and some OLD metal snowflake embellishments that have been in my stash for SO long that I have no clue where they came from! And that title? Gotta love my Silhouette Cameo! Downloaded Studio Calico's February phrases and this one was perfect for this layout. Just perfect.

Wanna see what the other Stuck?! Sketches design team members designed this week? Hop on over right over here! And if you play along and link your own design to today's reveal over at Stuck?!, you'll have a chance to win some prizes from our great challenge sponsors, a $50 gift certificate from Flying Unicorn - It's about... One of a kind and 2 large pieces of chipboard from Scrapmatts - Share your creativity.

Stuck?! Sketches: June 1st Sketch and Reveal

So happy that June is here! Why? It's time for another Stuck?! Sketches reveal, of course!! Hee!Hee! Here is the fabulous sketch Laura Whitaker gave the design team to work with this week:

Love those circles! But you know me - Having a horizontal 4X6 photo I absolutely wanted to scrap, I flipped the sketch to the left so that it looked like this:

And here is what I came up with:

Used tons and tons and tons of My Mind's Eye's Cut & Paste - Adorbs collection on this one. Also dashed some Creative Embellishments' circle chipboard pieces on there with some punched circles using Stampin' Up's silver foil paper. Yes, those inked coffee stains were done using Tim Holtz' Splatters stencil and StäzOn in my favourite shade, Timber Brown. Also added some Studio Calico wood veneer hearts, a Maya Road metal heart embellishment, We R Memory Keepers staples, stitching using my very handy Tim Holtz ruler and my ever-so-faithful DMC floss, and finally, some good ol' alphas by American Crafts and My Mind's Eye. Oh! And those navy and flowered circles were done by using my EK Success circle scissor, of course! Best little gadget I've seen out there in a long time!! SO handy! And the photo? Our sweet Éloïse on her father's shoulder when she was just a wee month a half old, taken by our friend, the very talented Philippe Dumas.

Here are few close-ups:

Good Saturday morning, everyone! Just a quick post to show you what I just designed for Let's Capture Our Memories' Sketch #73, revealed today, based on a fabulous sketch by Ana Castro.

Lots of Simple Stories - Homespun on here (6X6 patterned paper, 12X12 Simple Basics Kit, decorative brads, bits & pieces, SN@P! cards, SN@P! Instasquares), with some My Mind's Eye wood dots, Stampin' Up cardstock, silver foil paper and metal clip, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, an ACCO paper clip, stitching with DMC floss using a Bazzill Basics stitching template, an Ali Edwards cut file, Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alphas and... that washi tape? I have no clue! :) And that white piece behind the layout? The B-side of an old single-sided Basic Grey patterned paper I've had in my stash F-O-R-E-V-E-R!! Love it! (Don't worry, though. I have another piece of that BG patterned paper in my stash just waiting to be used!! Hee!Hee!)

Stuck?! Sketches: May 15th Sketch and Reveal

Today's the day for the second monthly Stuck?! Sketches' design team reveal! Here's the awesome Laura Whitaker's sketch we had the privilege to scrap with:

And here is my layout:

Now, for some of you who have been scrapping for a few years now, you might recognize the paper collection I used... actually, as soon as two of my fellow scrappers saw this layout, they said how these papers were some of their all-time favourites! Any guesses? Fancy Pants' very own Christmas Magic (c. 2009) and Hot Chocolate (c. 2010)!!! Love it how the two collections go hand in hand! I also stitched some snowflakes and Xs on there, using some Bazzill Basics stitching templates, splattered some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, and sticked some Queen & Co. washi tape, Studio Calico wood veneer trees and American Crafts alphas. Want to see some close-ups? Sure!

If you'd like to see the rest of the designs for this week's sketch, hop on over to today's Stuck?! Sketches reveal right here. You will NOT be disappointed. This team is oozing with inspiration for you!! Enjoy! Oh! And if you scrap a layout using this sketch, please link it to today's reveal over at Stuck?! to get a chance to win fabulous prizes from Creative Embellishments and ScrapMuch? A Scrapbook Paradise. Here is the fabulous sketch Laura Whitaker gave us to play with this week:

Awesome, eh? As many of you know, I am a hardcore fan of Laura's sketches. So simple and clean, and oh so, SO versatile!! No surprise then that I had a ball scrapping with this one. And here it is... drumroll, please... my first design reveal for Stuck?! Sketches:

And a few close-ups:

Used tons of American Crafts' Amy Tangerine Plus One collection on here. I also splashed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze on there with some specks of Stampin' Up gold foil paper, Kaisercraft pearls, a Studio calico wood veneer heart, stamping with a set by Technique Tuesdays, and stitching using a Bazzill Basics circular stitching template and some DMC floss. Photo by Philippe Dumas.

Let's Capture Our Memories: Sketch #67 (and another set of extras!)

Good Saturday to you, my scrappy peeps! So happy you dropped by! I've been kinda incognito from my blog lately, but that's because I've been busy blogging away over at Let's Capture Our Memories. I've been coordinating the LCOM design team since January and honestly, it's a blast. A new term is coming up, and that means lots of scrappy newness on the horizon. FUN!

But back to today. It's all about sketches. Laura Whitaker sketches to be exact. I just love her way of putting her ideas on paper. And what's even better, is that she shares those ideas with us so that we can design our own projects using them! She even has her own sketch site right here. This week, I used Laura's card sketch up on the LCOM blog to make a Mother's Day card. Here they are - the sketch, followed by my design:

Using a Stampin' Up cardstock piece for the base of the card, I then turned to Echo Park's For the Record 2 "Tailored" collection. Yes, those flowers are fussy-cut from a piece of patterned paper! I finished the design with a few Kaisercraft pearls, stitching using a Bazzill Basics stitching template and DMC floss, and a Stampin' Up sentiment stamp using StazOn ink. Voilà! A Mother's Day card all ready to go!!

While I'm here, I figure I best show you what I've been up to lately - and to be fair/honest, it's for my own recording purposes. ;) Here are a few designs that I've done since the last time I saw you (for more information on each layout, click on the link below each photo):

And there you have it! Phew! With a six-month old and a kindergardener, I've been scrapping a lot, haven't I? Hee!Hee! I promise, though, you will see me here a bit more on a regular basis come May... Why? You'll just have to wait and see of course! Hee!Hee! I love scrappy surprises!

Happy scrapping!
