Let's Capture Our Memories: Sketch #26

Hello, everyone! WOW! Time sure is flying by!! Already the last few days of June... WOW! And at Let's Capture Our Memories, it's the sketch designs that are flying by!! Sketch #26 already!! This week's sketch is brought to you by the super talented Allison Cope:

Now, this one wasn't an easy one for me. Yes, I must admit, I had to think about this one for a while. And then, one day, while looking through online galleries, it came to me - FLIP THE SKETCH! :) It totally worked!! And here is what I came up with:

A friend of mine asked me to do a layout using her youngest son's high school graduation picture (he graduated last Sunday) and adding bits and pieces of his favourite things. As you can see, Rémi is an avid hockey fan - see the piece of hockey net, skate laces, puck, medal and tape? "Scrapbookingwise", I used some good ol' Times & Seasons collection pieces from Echo Park along with some Tattered Angels, Studio Calico, American Crafts, Basic Grey, Stampin' Up and my ever-so-faithful DMC floss.

And of course, if you'd like to see what the other LCOM girls created with this sketch, hop to today's LCOM reveal. It's always a treat to see all the different ways one sketch is interpreted. You can even join in for the fun on the LCOM blog and get a chance to win a fabulous prize!

Let's Capture Our Memories: Sketch #24

Happy Saturday, everyone! And Happy Father's Day to all those great dads out there!! WOW! It's been such a busy weekend so far and it's not even done, yet! I do have enough time to squeeze in some blogging time and share what's been going on at LCOM this week. Here is the great Melissa Williams sketch from which we were inspired:

I was instantly drawn to those horizontal strips and almost tried doing something with washi tape, but as per my usual, I changed it up. Here is what I designed:

For the longest time, I've wanted to try a Julia Stainton chevron tutorial I had picked up through another blog. Here was my chance. Super easy to do, I dare you to try it for yourselves. You'll be hooked, I promise!  Used some Crate Paper, Liquitex, Stampin' Up, Tattered Angels, Studio Calico, Tim Holtz, Prima, Doodlebug, Kaisercraft, Basic Grey, Little Yellow Bicycle, and DMC. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Head on over to the LCOM blog to see what the other girls came up with for their designs and see how you could win a prize!

Cropping away with Let's Capture Our Memories!

Hi, everyone! I had the good fortune to crop with some of my favourite scrappy peeps yesterday at the Let's Capture Our Memories "It's A Party!" crop right here, in Moncton, New Brunswick. Isabelle, the store owner, always organizes a fun time for us gals and usually has one or two challenges up her sleeve. This time around, we were asked to do a layout based on this PageMaps sketch:

And here is what I whipped up:

Now, for a while now, every time I scrap pictures of my niece and nephew, I'm always gravitating towards Echo Park's For the Record 2 collection. And yes, that's exactly what I used once again for this great picture of them together. I also added some Pink Paislee, Studio Calico, Basic Grey, Heidi Swapp, Stampin' Up and DMC. CUTENESS!!

Let's Capture Our Memories: Sketch #22

Hello, everyone! And happy first day of June!! I have always loved this month. Not only is it my own birthday month, but many of my most special scrappy peeps were also orn in June so I know that there will be lots of get togethers in the next few weeks. YOUPI!

This week, at Let's Capture Our Memories, we had the chance to work with this sketch by Melissa Williams:

Now, I know, at first glance, one would think that this is solely a card sketch, but LCOM has asked some of its designers to think outside the box and make a layout! I must admit, I was stumped for a few days, but all of a sudden, I saw the shape of those string-tie envelopes and it immediately inspired me to seek out a good online tutorial to make my own. Here is the layout I made:

Supplies: Basic Grey, Pink Paislee, Queen & Co., Prima, Tim Holtz, Pink Paislee, DMC, Stampin' Up, American Crafts.

That tutorial I found? Super dooper easy! Here it is:
