Hello, everyone! Here we are at the May mid-month mark already. WOW! But happily, that means that it's time for another Stuck?! Sketches reveal and a new Laura Whitaker sketch. YAY! Here is the sketch:
L-O-V-E that sketch!! Isn't it amazing? And here's what I created with it:
I had to work quite a bit to find a collection that matched the color of the hat Éloïse was wearing in that photo. Now, usually, when that happens, I would have opted to use a black and white version of the pic, but I R-E-A-L-L-Y wanted to use that photograph in color. I don't know. It just makes the exuberance of the memory that more exciting - the first time she sat in the stroller to go pick-up her brother at the bus stop without clipping the car seat onto the stroller!
I found all the pinkiest collections I had in my stash. Never imagined that there were so many shades of pink to choose from! ;) But as soon as I lay the photo onto My Mind's Eye's Cut & Paste-Adorbs collection, I knew I had found the match. I used 12X12 and 6X6 patterned papers, a button, as well as layered stickers from that collection. I also added pieces of Fancy Pants, Echo Park, and Basic Grey patterned papers. There's also part of a Jillibean Soup Placemat, Stampin' Up cardstock, alphas by My Mind's Eye and Basic Grey, a Heidi Swapp wood veneer title piece, random baker's twine and a button from my stash, and hand-stitching using a Bazzill Basics stitching template and DMC floss. But my favorite elements of this layout have to be those three Studio Calico transparent butterflies on there... Do you see them? Those are actually masks I've had in my stash since, get this, 2011. And no, I've never used them as they are intended. Not even once. I figured since I've never used them as masks that I was better off using them as embellishments! ;)
And there you have it! Want to see what the other design team members came up with? Hop along right over here and be prepared to be inspired! And when you link your own design based on today's sketch over on the Stuck? Sketches blog, you'll get the chance to win some fabulous scrappy loot from these amazing sponsors: Evalicious and Creative Embellishments. YAY!
Happy scrapping!
