Hello, everyone! It's been awhile, I know, but the end of Summer for us was marked with some not so good moments, so my scrappy time was cut short a bit. In fact, I've had to make the difficult decision to step down from the Stuck?! Sketches team in order to have a bit more time for me and my family. With the Stuck?! Sketches design team call that just ended a few days ago, I thought it was the perfect time to take a step back and let other designers be part of this fabulous team. However, I didn't want to go without revealing one last design for the awesome Laura Whitaker. So, here's today's sketch:
And here's my design:
I've always loved this photo of my parents taken in 2011, while we were vacationing in Cape Breton. It's SO them, before all the craziness of cancer and broken hips and getting older, doing what they do best, enjoying the simplest things in life, working together around the house, being the pillars of the family, not just for their own five children, but for the whole extended family, too. And Simple Stories' Homespun collection is SO perfect for scrapping pics of my parents - I often gravitate towards it every time I do. Tons of it on here - patterned papers, chipboard, stickers, alphas, die-cuts... I think that's it. Hee!Hee! I also included some Freckled Fawn embellishments, a piece of Tim Holtz kraft patterned paper, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, Stampin' Up cardstock journalling strips, Prima leaves, and yes, of course, hand-stitching using a Close-to-My-Heart stitching template with some DMC floss. Oh! And those circles? I cut them using my very good friend's circular dies with my Cuttlebug. No magnetic plate to be found so I just taped them directly onto the patterned paper and voilà! Easy peasy! Thanks Isabelle E!
Want to see what the other designers came up with for this great sketch? Hop along right over here. And when you play along, please link up your design using today's sketch onto today's reveal over at Stuck?! Sketches. You'll get the chance to win some super scrappy stuff from Lindy's and Evalicious.
So there you have it- my 33rd layout with Stuck?! Sketches since I first joined the team in May 2014. It's been a blast! And I look forward in keeping up with what the new team will design using Laura's ever-so-inspiring sketches. Huge shout out to Laura for having let me be part of the Stuck?! Sketches family for so long. You are an amazing source of inspiration for us all! Big hugs!
Happy scrapping!
