This time of year for us is always special for me as we often take our family pics. This weekend is no exception! We've booked a friend of mine, Philippe Dumas, to come to the house to take this year's pictures in our backyard - we're going to use all of the fallen leaves as accessories... which is very appropriate this year because Louis-Olivier has been coming home with bouquets of leaves every day for his Maman. Too cute! So, it's kind of ironic that the layout I made for this week's reveal at LCOM was done with some of my favourite family pics taken two years ago (Already! YIKES!). This week's sketch was by Natalie Roy:
I must admit, I had a hard time with this one. I had to think outside the box and shift some things around (Kudos to the girls who were able to follow the sketch a little more closely than me!). However, I am thrilled with what I came up with. Here it is:
I used a pot-pourri of products on this layout: patterned papers by Lily Bee Design and Pink Paislee, alphas by Prima and Bella Blvd, Tiny text by Cosmo Cricket, Adirondack acrylic paint by Ranger, buttons by Close to My Heart, and metal vintage trinket by Maya Road. I just love the look of those bubble wrap splats! And looking at these pictures, I can't wait for this weekend's photoshoot with Philippe. YOUPI!
The LCOM girls really outdid themselves this week with their designs. If you want some amazing inspiration, click on the link below and be prepared to be wowed!!

Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #154 --- REVEAL!!!
Another week! Another WEEK!! WOW!!! Time sure flies when you're having fun... scrapping!! Hee!Hee! This week, the LCOM girls got to work with another Natalie Roy sketch. Here it is:
And here is what I came up with:
For the longest time, I limited myself to boyish paletted collections. However, as soon as I dabbed my toes in girlish collections, to my husband's chagrin (just kidding!), my heart started to pitter-patter. This is my oldest niece on her way to school last Spring. You might have recognized the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan patterned papers and Thickers, but I also used some Stampin' Up ribbon, Maya Road metal embellishment, Studio Calico wood veneer embellishments, Prima alphas and text, Doodlebug embellies, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze and an acrylic paint. The picture goes perfectly with the collection, right? I thought so, too!
For more inspiration, click on the link below and see how some of the other LCOM girls were inspired from the sketch. Enjoy!

Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #153 --- REVEAL!!!
Yes, it's that time again. Another great reveal at LCOM. This week, we had an AWESOME sketch by Kimberly Figures:
Great isn't it? Here is what I came up with:
Last Spring, we had a Canadian version of America's Got Talent and a few friends of mine were members of Angry Candy, a local band that made it to the series finale. Here you see the band when they found out that they made it to the semi-finals. A moment to celebrate for SURE! The picture was taken by a CGT photographer, but the band never found out what his/her name was. On a scrappy note, for this layout, I wanted to use products that would make it a bit edgy in order to go with the band's persona. I used pattered paper by Basic Grey, MME and Echo Park, ribbon by Stampin' Up and Prima (there's a third trim I have no idea who the manufacturer is! Oops!), alphas by Jenni Bowlin, Doodlebug Designs and American Crafts, tiny text and staples by Tim Holtz, sequined star by Heidi Swapp, Glimmer Glaze by Tattered Angels, bling by Prima and Magic Mesh. And that ripped section? Totally inspired by the wonderdul Nicole Nowosad.

Creative Scrappers: CS Design Team Announcement
OMG! OMG!! OMG!!! Can you tell that I'm happy?!? Hee!Hee! I am SO excited to share with you all that I recently found out that I was chosen to be on the Creative Scrappers Design Team, starting in November 2012 through February 2013!! WOO!HOO! For those of you who don't know about CS, it's a great site full of awesome sketches and amazing designs by scrappers from around the world. As some of you know, I use sketches ALL THE TIME to do my layouts. But what I especially love about the CS sketch collection, is that you can flip them, rotate them, move their elements around, and the sketches still totally make sense. Versatility for the win!! :) For example, here is a CS sketch by Juliana Micheals I recently used to create my Erika layout.
As you can imagine, I am truly honoured to have been chosen to be part of this team and am ecstatic in starting this wonderful creative journey with its members. Thanks, Kristine Davidson, for this great opportunity!! Here is the list of the outta-this-world scrappers who will be creating layouts for you, and me, and everyone out there who are continually looking for a good sketch and/or scrappy inspiration:

Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #152 --- REVEAL!!!
Another week has just flown past... and for me, it was extra special as we celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary in Cape Breton with family!! To mark this occasion, I made a layout with some of our wedding pictures, using this week's LCOM sketch by Kimberly Figures. Here is the AWESOME sketch from which we were inspired:
And here is what I made:
Once again, I had a ball mixing and matching products for this design. I used some Studio Calico and Lily Bee Design patterned papers, Bella Blvd and Basic Grey alphas, Tim Holtz' Chit Chat words and Distress Ink (Walnut Stain is my ultimate favourite!), Prima wooden embellishments, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, and last, but least, foliage from Michaels.
And yes, the LCOM girls produced another set of great layouts this week. Head on over to the reveal by clicking on the link below and enjoy!!
Let's Capture These Sketches: Sketch #152 --- REVEAL!!!: I can't believe it's already October!!!! Fall just seemed to appear over night. I'm loving the cooler weather and the trees are so stunning...
