Stuck?! Sketches: April 15th Sketch and Reveal

Hello, everyone! Mid-month ALREADY! WOW! It's reveal day over at Stuck?! Sketches. Wanna see what sketch Laura Whitaker inspired the design team with this time around? Here it is:

And here's my layout:

Used tons of Fancy Pants' Trendsetter on this one with a few odds and ends of Maya Road, Crate Paper (don't you just LOVE that piece of foiled vellum?), Tattered Angels, American Crafts (gotta love it when Thickers match a collection so perfectly!), and Studio Calico. Stamped some word script using a Stampin' Up stamp. Also stitched the word 'petits' with my very handy We R Memory Keepers stitching template, finding the needed letters and creating my own word with them. Also stitched around the perimeter of the layout using a Close to My Heart stitching template. All stitching done with DMC floss. I also fussy-cut the '2' out of one of the Fancy Pants' patterned papers and embossed it using a Stampin' Up embossing folder. And those little piggies? They are those of my sweet Éloïse in the Spring of 2014 in the ever-so-popular Perreault pose. As soon as I saw her put her feet like that, I grabbed my camera and started snapping pics. Hee!Hee!

Challenge YOUrself: Challenge #17 - Around Here

Hello, hello! It's reveal day over at Challenge YOUrself today. This month, the challenge was to create something about the daily routines of our lives. For me, since the new year rolled along, I've been trying to enjoy the simplest of things with my family - taking the time to truly enjoy the snippets of time we have together between work and school and activities. Here's what I came up with:

T-O-N-S of Fancy Pants' new collection, Flutter, on here - patterned paper (did you know that the collection is textured? Even the 6X6 paper pad?), gold chevron foiled paper, pieces of the ephemera pack, a button, a brag card or two, and bits of the insta pack. Also added a piece of Crate Paper foiled vellum (LOVE IT!), a My Scraps and More free digital cut you can find right here, American Crafts alphas, a Basic Grey sticker, Magenta mesh, splatters of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, Heidi Swapp Color Shine and Liquitex Acrylic Ink, with a few sequins I found laying around in my scrappy stash and some stitching, oh yes, all hand-stitched usings a The Crafter's Workshop stitching template and some DMC floss. Photo by Philippe Dumas. Finally, I was greatly inspired by this awesome Karan Gerber sketch:

Wanna see what the other Challenge YOUrself team members are up to these days? Hop on right over here. And if you want to share what you do everyday by designing at little something yourself, please link your creation to today's reveal over at Challenge YOUrself. Make sure that YOU are in the photo! You'll get a chance to win a fun, scrappy prize!

Happy scrapping!

Stuck?! Sketches: April 1st Sketch and Reveal

Hello, everyone! Today is the first of the month and you know what that means - it's reveal day over at Stuck?! Sketches! Here's the beautiful sketch by the oh, so fabulous Laura Whitaker the design team worked with this time around:

And here's my design:

Went old school on this one - bits and pieces of Basic Grey Pyrus patterned papers with one of my all-time favourite piece of patterned paper ever, the Spring Fever piece from Fancy Pants' It's the Little Things collection (which are hiding some major flopportunities!). I also stamped some stitched circles using an awesome stamp set by Prima Marketing with some StazOn ink. Also stitched zigzag patterns onto some strips using a Close to My Heart stitching template and some DMC floss, adhered a few My Mind's Eye wooden dots and splattered some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze here and there. That title? A piece of copper wire my dear friend worked with to spell the name of my cutie-pie daughter, Éloïse. She even got the accents in there and everything! Thanks Isabelle E!!! And that photo? Taken by the incredible Philippe Dumas
